stocky Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how the mobile application stocky — Smart Pantry & Nutrition Assistant (hereinafter "stocky" or "the app") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data belonging to its users.

2. Data Collected
2.1 Automatically Collected Data (sent to our servers)
- Anonymous device identifiers (Firebase Analytics anonymous ID)
- Advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID — user-resettable)
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics — sent automatically when an error occurs)
- Anonymous usage statistics (which screens are visited, which features are used)
- Anonymous Firebase Auth ID for premium entitlement management (cross-device subscription sync)
2.2 Data Processed Locally (Never Leaves the Device)
Your personal and health-related data stays on your device and is not uploaded to our servers:
- Pantry / inventory: Products you add, quantities, expiry dates, consumption history — on device only.
- Health profile: Height, weight, age, gender, and goals (for calorie/macro calculation) — on device only.
- Diet and allergen preferences: Stored on device only.
- Shopping list and expenses: On device only.
- Camera and OCR: Barcode scanning, nutrition-label and receipt reading run entirely on-device via Google ML Kit. Captured frames are processed in memory; no photo is stored or uploaded to the cloud.
2.3 Community Product Database (Firestore)
stocky uses a community-based product database to expand product coverage in Turkey. When you scan a barcode or add a product manually, only product information (barcode, product name, brand, nutrition values, allergen tags) may be contributed to the shared database so that the next user who scans the same product finds the data ready.
This contribution contains no personal data — no information identifying you (name, email, location, health data) is sent; only product facts and an anonymous contributor ID are stored. Your inventory, health data, and expenses are never uploaded to this database.
3. Purpose of Use
- Providing app functionality (inventory tracking, depletion prediction, health dashboard, premium subscription management)
- Fetching product info by barcode and enriching the community database
- Crash reporting and performance improvement
- Personalized ad display (free users only, via AdMob)
- Anonymous usage statistics for product development
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Auth, Firestore, Remote Config) — Privacy policy

- Google Play Billing (premium subscription) — Privacy policy
- Google ML Kit (on-device barcode + OCR, no data sent to cloud) — Terms
- Open Food Facts (product/nutrition lookup by barcode) — Privacy policy
- FatSecret Platform API (fallback nutrition lookup) — Terms
For barcode lookups, the barcode number is sent to these nutrition services to retrieve product information; it is not linked to your personal information.
5. Advertising
The free tier of stocky shows ads via Google AdMob. These ads may be personalized based on user interests. You can disable personalization in your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID.
By purchasing a Premium subscription you can remove all ads.
6. Permissions
- Camera: Barcode, nutrition-label and receipt scanning. Image is processed on device, not stored.
- Notifications: Expiry and "running out soon" reminders.
- Internet: Product lookup, premium verification, ads, and community database sync.
7. Data Security
- All internet traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS
- Your health, inventory, and expense data never leaves your device
- Product info contributed to the community database contains no personal data
- Premium payments are handled by Google Play; no card data reaches stocky
- Anonymous analytics data is auto-deleted after 14 months (Firebase Analytics retention policy)
8. User Rights (KVKK / GDPR)
Under KVKK Article 11 and GDPR Articles 15–22, you have the right to:
- Know whether your data is being processed
- Access your data
- Request correction, deletion, or restriction of processing
- Object to automated decision-making
- Data portability
Since your personal data is stored on your device, you can permanently delete it by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's data in your device settings. For deletion requests regarding anonymous analytics data, please contact mfurkankckk@gmail.com.
9. Children's Privacy
stocky does not knowingly collect data from users under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the app.
10. Changes
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification. The current version is always published on this page.
