Word Lounge Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how the mobile application Word Lounge: Multilingual Vocabulary & Grammar Learning (hereinafter "Word Lounge" or "the app") processes user data. Word Lounge does not create an account or ask you for personal information (name, email, phone); your learning data stays on your device. However, the app uses some third-party services for showing ads, optional purchases, and the online match feature.

2. Data Collected
2.1 Data Automatically Collected by Third Parties
The app itself collects no data that identifies you, but the integrated Google ad service may collect:
- Advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID — user-resettable)
- Device information and approximate usage data (Google AdMob, to serve relevant ads and measure performance)
Word Lounge does not use Firebase, Crashlytics, crash reporting, its own analytics, or any other tracking SDK.
2.2 Data Stored Locally (Never Leaves the Device)
- Your learning progress: studied/mastered words, memory levels, the mistakes pool.
- Scores, XP, streak, daily goal and statistics.
- Coins, unlocked themes and power-ups.
- Your settings (known/learning language, level, sound, etc.) and the nickname you enter in the app.
All of this is kept only in your device's local storage (localStorage) and is not sent to a server of ours. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
2.3 Online Match Data
In online match mode, only the nickname and room code you enter are shared directly with your opponent over a peer-to-peer (P2P) WebRTC connection, for matchmaking. A free signaling service (PeerJS) and connection-helper servers (STUN/TURN) are used to establish the connection. This mode stores no account, chat, or game history on a server; if you don't use the feature, no data is shared.
3. Purpose of Use
- Providing app functionality (storing progress, scores, and settings on device)
- Showing ads in the free tier (via AdMob only)
- Managing the optional Premium purchase
- Matching two players in online match
4. Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob (interstitial ads) — Privacy policy
- Google Play Billing (Premium purchase) — Privacy policy
- PeerJS signaling + STUN/TURN servers (only for the online match connection)
- Google Fonts (loading interface fonts) — Privacy policy
No other third-party services (social SDKs, attribution services, etc.) are used.
5. Advertising
The free tier of Word Lounge shows ads (a pre-quiz interstitial) via Google AdMob. These ads may be personalized based on user interests. You can disable personalization in your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID. By purchasing the one-time Premium you can remove all ads completely.
6. Permissions
- Notifications (Android 13+): Only to show study reminders. You may decline; the app still works.
- Internet: For ads, online match, and loading fonts.
No location, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage permission is requested.
7. Data Security
- All internet traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS
- Your learning data never leaves your device
- Premium payments are handled by Google Play; no card data reaches Word Lounge
8. User Rights (KVKK / GDPR)
Under KVKK Article 11 and GDPR Articles 15-22, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and object to the processing of your data. Since all your learning data is stored on your device, you can permanently delete it in a single step from within the app (Settings → Reset progress) or by uninstalling the app. For data processed by AdMob such as the advertising identifier, you can reset or delete the advertising ID in your device settings. 9. Children's Privacy
Word Lounge is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal data from users under 13. Ads are served in line with Google AdMob policies.
10. Changes
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy. The current version is always published on this page and the date above is updated.
