Mintly Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how the mobile application Mintly: Calm Pomodoro Timer (hereinafter "Mintly" or "the app") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data belonging to its users. Mintly is a privacy-first focus and daily-ritual app available on iOS and Android.
1. Data Controller
App Owner: MFK Apps Studio
Contact: hello@appsmfk.com
2. Data Collected
2.1 Automatically Collected Data (sent to our servers)
- Anonymous device identifiers (Firebase Analytics anonymous ID)
- Advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS — user-resettable; on iOS used only if you grant permission)
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics — sent automatically when an error occurs)
- Anonymous usage statistics (which screens are visited, which features are used)
- Remote configuration (Firebase Remote Config — anonymous segmentation for paywall and feature experiments)
- Anonymous subscription identifier (RevenueCat — a randomly generated UUID; contains no email, name, or other personal information)
2.2 Data Processed Locally (Never Leaves the Device)
Mintly is privacy-first and runs no server of its own; your focus data never leaves your device:
- Focus sessions: Start/end time, planned and actual duration, ritual and step used, selected ambient sound — stored on device only.
- Rituals and settings: Default focus/break durations, theme, language preference, Calm Mode, notification preferences — on device only (local database and preference store).
- Daily summary and statistics: Completed sessions and total focus time — computed and stored on device only.
Mintly does not require you to create an account; your name, email, or location is not collected. There is no cloud sync.
3. Purpose of Use
- Providing app functionality (managing focus sessions, rituals, reminders, and your daily summary on device)
- Crash reporting and performance improvement
- Ad display (free users only, via AdMob)
- Anonymous usage statistics for product development
- Verifying and managing premium subscriptions (RevenueCat)
- Managing premium pricing and feature experiments (Remote Config)
4. Third-Party Services
The following services are used:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) — Privacy policy
- Google AdMob (banner and interstitial ads, UMP consent) — Privacy policy
- RevenueCat (subscription management; operates with an anonymous UUID) — Privacy policy
- Apple App Store (premium purchases on iOS) — Privacy policy
- Google Play Billing (premium purchases on Android) — Privacy policy
Mintly uses no other third-party services (social SDKs, attribution services, etc.) and runs no server of its own.
5. Advertising & Consent (UMP / ATT)
The free tier of Mintly shows ads via Google AdMob (no ads are shown during the first 24 hours of use). Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent screen via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).
For iOS users: Before any personalized ads, Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt is shown. If you do not grant permission, only non-personalized ads are displayed.
You can also disable ad personalization in your device settings. For users in the U.S., a CCPA "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" (opt-out) link is provided in the Settings screen. By purchasing a Premium subscription you can remove all ads. Mintly never shows ads during a focus session, on launch, or during onboarding.
6. Permissions
- Notifications: Session/break completion alerts and optional daily reminders.
- Background audio / foreground service: So the timer and ambient sounds keep running uninterrupted while the app is in the background (background audio mode on iOS, foreground service on Android).
- Internet: Ads, premium verification, and anonymous analytics/configuration.
Mintly does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or health data.
7. Data Security
- All internet traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS
- Your focus sessions, rituals, and settings never leave your device
- Premium payments are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play; no card data reaches Mintly
- Anonymous analytics data is auto-deleted after 14 months (Firebase Analytics retention policy)
8. User Rights (KVKK / GDPR / CCPA)
Under KVKK Article 11, GDPR Articles 15–22, and the CCPA, you have the right to:
- Know whether your data is being processed
